UPDATE 1 (3:16 PM): Astro has reached out to us and stated that this disruption does not affect Astro IPTV customers as well as Astro GO users. ORIGINAL STORY (3:06 PM): Astro has published a brief post on its Twitter and Facebook which stated its service is facing disruptions at the moment. While it does not contain any in-depth details regarding the disruption, the announcement did mention that it mainly affects the broadcast of Astro’s HD channels. The company also didn’t mention exactly when the disruptions actually began but based on customer complaints on Astro’s Facebook page, it most likely started an hour or two ago.

At the same time, the company didn’t indicate whether only satellite customers were affected by this issue or if it also involved Astro IPTV subscribers (UPDATE – 3:16 PM: (An Astro representative has clarified that Astro IPTV and Astro GO users are not affected by the disruption). At the moment, Astro did not provide an estimated recovery timeline and the company would only update its users once the issue has been overcome.
