The announcement came via the official PlayStation YouTube channel. Over at the official PlayStation blog, the company also details the usual benefits that the PC version of God of War will get over its console counterparts. The highlight here is of course unlocked framerates, and support for Nvidia’s DLSS tech. Then there’s the 21:9 ultra-wide support. The game already has a Steam page, and a price of RM209. This marks another flagship PlayStation title to make its way to PC. It sort of lines up with the sequel, God of War: Ragnarok, coming sometime in 2022 as well. Naturally, there’s some interesting reactions of the negative kind on Twitter, just like any other time an exclusive makes its way to PC.

— PlayStation (@PlayStation) October 20, 2021 But as it is, releasing old games to PC just before a sequel comes for the PS5 looks to be the general PlayStation strategy. That being said, Just because it now also applies to God of War doesn’t mean it applies to every series it has under its belt. At least not yet. Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 is currently scheduled for a 2023 release, and we will see if the first game and the Miles Morales expansion makes its way to PC next year.
