Announced during the search engine’s Google for Nigeria event, Gallery Go automatically organises photos into different categories. Categories include people, selfies, nature, animals, document, and videos. And it does it without the phone’s user having to manually label the images. As mentioned, Gallery Go is designed to work offline; it basically uses less than data than the currently existing Google Photos app, taking up only 10MB of space on Android devices. Like Photos, Gallery Go retains the same customisation options too, meaning that you can still edit, cutout, and change the final outcome of any pictures taken. The major difference between Gallery Go and Google Photos is, naturally, the storage options. With Google Photos, users have access to Google’s cloud storage service. Allowing them to store an unlimited number of photos and video, so long as the user has sufficient storage space. Due to its offline nature, Gallery Go does not have access to said cloud. Gallery Go is already available for download on the Google Play Store, and is currently only available for Android devices.
