With the feature in place, if you were to search for an image via Google, the Images viewer should now display information pertaining to the said image. Complete with the new fields “Get the image” and “License details”.

One reason behind Google Images’ implementation of the feature is because of an all too common issue when consumers search for images online and use them without properly crediting the original source or person responsible for taking or providing it. Additionally, a “Usage Rights” tab can now be found within the Image filter bar, along with the “Creative Commons Licenses” and “Commercial & other licenses” tab. To help users differentiate between the different imaging licenses.

While the company has stated that this feature will be made available for both mobile and desktop versions in all regions, it is worth noting that Google has already implemented this feature here in Malaysia. (Source: Google Blog)
