The project was discovered by 9to5Google that picked up on the project via a recent update for Android’s Data Restore Tool. So far, the app seems to provide a back up service for basic user information – contacts, photos, calendar dates and appointments being just some of them – directly to Google Drive. Similar to the way users switching between Android devices, do so seamlessly, even their layout. The process doesn’t seem too difficult either, requiring only three steps to complete the transfer. The first and most obvious step is to download the Switch to Android app. Once completed, the app will then require users to open up a local Wi-Fi network and from there, have their iPhone connected to said network.
