As you might already know, the PRIHATIN discount originally applies for the period between 1 April up till 30 September 2020. Throughout the six month’s duration, TNB domestic customers are provided with discounts that range from 2% to 50% depending on their consumption. With the announcement today, that means the discounts are being applied for electric consumption that takes place from 1 October until 31 December 2020. In addition to that, the extension is also applicable for the additional 8% discount for domestic customers with monthly consumption of more than 600kWh which was announced as part of the Bantuan Prihatin Elektrik (BPE). In other words, 600kWh+ customers will see a monthly discount of 10% on their TNB bill until the end of the year. Meanwhile, the extension has also been implemented for Sabah and Sarawak domestic consumers which currently receives an additional 2% discount from the federal government for their Sabah Electricity and Sarawak Energy bills.
