According to the company, the inclusion of additional delivery options is intended to provide GrabFood users with choices to suit their preference at a given time. As for the new Saver option, Grab says choosing this will guarantee customers with the lowest fees for food dispatch, but at the cost of delivery time. More specifically, meals will be delivered up to an additional 20 minutes on top of the Standard time, which will vary depending on distance and time of day an order is placed. Grab further adds that deliveries under the Saver option will be grouped more aggressively with several other GrabFood orders. Delivery-partners, including riders and drivers, will be assigned to collect multiple deliveries from different points along the way, provided that each drop-off location is also within the same direction that they are travelling to. The company did not detail the incentives provided to their GrabFood delivery-partners for couriering items under this option, however. GrabFood’s new Saver delivery option is now available to all Grab users, provided that they are located in the locations mentioned above. As with the existing Premium and Standard categories, users can choose to utilise it via the checkout page before confirming their meal orders on the app or the service’s official website. Needless to say, if you’re planning to save up a couple of ringgit for your meals and willing to wait a while longer for deliveries, then the new Saver option may be up your alley. Alternatively, this can also be utilised for ordering meals ahead of time, especially for parties and other similar occasions. (Source: Grab press release)
