Design-wise, the FreeLace’s single cord physique seems to take a cue from the Jabra Halo Free and the BeatsX earphones. There’s a hub on each side of the cord, with the right hub housing the volume rocker and the function button that can be used to answer calls, control your music, and activate Apple’s Siri or Google Assistant. There’s more to the FreeLace than meets the eye too. In an effort to circumvent the usualy Bluetooth connectivity issues present with most wireless devices, the FreeLace’s right earbud can be detached. Revealing a USB-C connector that can obviously be used to charge the headphones. More than that, plugging the FreeLace into a phone running EMUI 9.1 will initiate a “Plug and Pair” mode that allows users to automatically pair the headphones to the device via the on-board Huawei HiPair function.
Specs-wise, each earbud of the FreeLace features a 92mm dynamic drivers, comprising an ultra-thin TPU diaphragm and titanium plating. In terms of battery life, Huawei promises that its new Bluetooth headphones will provide 18 hours of playback and 13 hours of talk time on a single charge. The Huawei FreeLace is set to retail at an SRP of €99 (~RM454) and in colours corresponding to the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro.
