Powered by Huawei’s own Kirin 9000 5nm processor which also feature an integrated Balong 5000 5G modem, the Mate 40 Pro is also equipped with a 6.76-inch OLED display that has a native resolution of 2772 x 1344, 90Hz refresh rate, and 88-degrees curvatures on both sides of the screen. According to Huawei Malaysia’s website, the local variant features 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage which can be expanded further via the company’s proprietary Nano Memory card.

In terms of photography, the Mate 40 Pro relies on a 50MP f/1.9 main camera alongside a 20MP f/1.8 ultra-wide camera and 10MP telephoto camera that has 10x hybrid zoom range as well as 50x digital zoom. The phone’s rear camera module which was co-designed with Huawei’s long-time camera partner Leica also includes a laser sensor that is meant to boost its auto-focusing capability. On the front part of the phone, Huawei has provided a 13MP selfie camera alongside a 3D depth camera.
