Posted on his account on Twitter, OnLeaks (in collaboration with HandsetExpert) has provided a set of images showcasing the alleged design of the Huawei Mate 40 Series. It was previously rumoured that Huawei could be releasing more than one version of the device, including a standard and Pro model.

360* video + gorgeous 5K renders, on behalf of my Friends over @Pricebaba! -> https://t.co/zi0yQLCduv pic.twitter.com/uKVWMYa9Zh — Steve H.McFly (@OnLeaks) August 3, 2020 According to the renders, the first thing to note is that this alleged design of the Mate 40 Series has finally dropped the notch approach, which was prominently featured in its predecessors. Instead, we see the phone’s large curved display now sporting a wide pill-shaped cutout that houses what appears to be dual front-facing cameras on its upper left corner. On its back is a massive rounded camera island which consists of four different camera sensors. The specifications for each sensor is not known at this time, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Huawei would include an ultra-wide and telephoto as part of the set. Other than that, the renders also suggest that the phone will feature a volume rocker and lock button on its right side, as well as a USB-C slot and speaker grille on its bottom. On top of the phone appears to be a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Huawei usually targets its Mate-branded smartphone launches towards the end of every year, from October to November. Hopefully we’ll find out more details about the upcoming Mate 40 series by that time when the company is ready to announce it. (Source: OnLeaks [Twitter])
