With the help of the new Intel Xe graphics architecture, Intel earlier this year claimed that the integrated graphics inside the 10nm Tiger Lake processors can deliver discrete-level graphics. That is quite a bold claim indeed, but this demonstration below showed that it is not just a random sweet talk:
— Ryan Shrout (@ryanshrout) June 17, 2020 Demonstrated by Ryan Shrout, the Chief Performance Strategist at Intel, what have you just seen in the clip above is a prototype laptop equipped with a Tiger Lake processor running Battlefield V at 1080p and High graphics preset. The exact specs of the processor and the laptop itself were not revealed by Ryan but he did point out that the system is not running on finalized drivers or software.
Battlefield V is a graphics-intensive game, so seeing it running at around 30 fps on an integrated laptop graphics processor is quite intriguing. Hence, expect Intel to publicly flex Tiger Lake’s muscle more often as we get nearer to its release within the next few months.
