The security manager is an update to Mozilla’s Lockbox feature, and functions by generating, managing, and protecting passwords for user logins on streaming services, delivery platforms, and so on. It can now protect saved passwords by requesting the user to log into their main account before revealing login details on the “Logins and Passwords” page. Additionally, a “Vulnerable Password” alert will be shown in the “about:logins” page if a user’s account is compromised, along with further details about the breach. Lockwise can further assist the user by generating secure passwords of no less than 12 random letters, numbers, and symbols. This option will be prompted to the user when they create a new account on websites or services. Firefox 76 also comes with other new features including picture-in-picture modes that allow users to watch videos in a smaller window while browsing websites. It also provides support for Audio Worklets which enables Firefox users to participate in Zoom calls within the browser without needing to download additional apps or files.
