The site, who is citing various sources, revealed that the Z5 will be an entry-level 24MP full-frame mirrorless camera that will be focusing on photography rather than videos. In addition, it is speculated that this model is intended to be a direct competitor to Canon’s EOS RP in terms of performance. Aside from the aforementioned sensor, the Nikon Z5 is said to feature in-body image stabilisation (IBIS), the same electronic viewfinder and autofocus system as the Nikon Z6, 4K video recording capability with 1.7x video crop, and 6fps burst shooting. The camera will lack a top panel LCD, but will feature a rear LCD screen with 1m dots screen resolution. It also allegedly sports a magnesium alloy camera body, USB-C connectivity and charging support, and is powered by a new Nikon EN-EL15c battery. Nikon Rumors suggests that the new Nikon Z5 will see an official announcement sometime in mid July, and is expected to ship later this year.
