Spotted by My Smart Price, the invite to the event by OPPO features a prominent number 10 alongside imagery of a prism. The original 5x zoom camera uses prisms alongside lenses to achieve lossless 5x zoom capabilities. The zoom lens design was developed in cooperation with CorePhotonics and uses a 90-degree angular prism to direct the light to a vertically positioned stabilized camera sensor. Camera advancements means we can have high resolution sensors without the bulk; this could be the main reason why the original prototype did not go into production. The launch event is slated to take place today, and may even give some insight to OnePlus’ future smartphone models. The company typically uses models created by OPPO and tweaks the hardware and software to its specification. More information on the new OPPO model will be shared here once details are made available to the general public. (Source: MyDrivers, My Smart Price via GSMArena)
