Among the restrictions that PM Muhyiddin has mentioned in his remark include travel, shopping, and dining. This is to show that the public will be able to slowly return to normal life, as the government continues to manage the pandemic.

This is not exactly the first time that PM Muhyiddin has suggested easing down restrictions on fully vaccinated individuals. Back in April, he stated that the matter has been discussed during the National Security Council meetings but until today, no official policy has been set by the government. Up till yesterday, JKJAV statistics showed that 17.1% of the adult population in Malaysia have been fully vaccinated but let’s not forget that Malaysia has also recorded more than 11,000 COVID-19 cases for the past two days. Nevertheless, it seems the government is relying heavily on the immunisation program to move things forward, especially given the fact that it is pushing to achieve herd immunity by the end of 2021.
