In addition to 90fps support, PUBG Mobile will also be getting support for true 10-bit HDR. As it is currently, the game only has a simulated HDR. Of course, you’ll need a phone that supports both 90fps and HDR to be able to make use of these. Other games will be pushing into 120Hz territory. Some games will even go all the way to support 144hz displays.
Neither Qualcomm nor PUBG Mobile’s publisher has shared a timeline as to when the update that brings these new features will roll out. It also remains to be seen if other mobile game developers will follow PUBG Mobile’s lead in adding 90fps support for their games. While it’s unclear if these features will only be enjoyed by phones running the new chipsets. But considering when and where the announcement was made, it does seem to be the case. The Snapdragon Tech Summit saw the announcement of Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship Snapdragon 865 chipset, alongside the Snapdragon 765 and 765G chipsets.
