“We hope these efforts will help local SMEs make up the loss in offline revenue, improve cash flow and most importantly, sustain their businesses,” said Shopee regional managing director Ian Ho. “Above all, it is our sincere hope that this package would provide Malaysians the assurance that we are in this together, especially those who will soon be celebrating Hari Raya.”
The Shopee Seller Support Package will help SMEs by creating sales and growth opportunities, reducing operational costs, and providing sustainable development through funding, subsidies and education. For a period of two weeks, businesses eligible for this package will receive RM400 in Shopee vouchers, RM200 in free paid advertising credits, and free participation in its RM19 Free Shipping program. With this, Shopee hopes to ease the online transitions for SMEs, as well as generating a substantial volume of orders. Shopee adds that existing sellers are also offered benefits from this newly launched support package. The eCommerce platform is providing a discount of up to 45% on fees in its RM19 Free Shipping and Coins Cashback program, RM400 in free paid advertising credits, and a chance to earn RM100,000 worth of dedicated campaign vouchers every week.
Additionally, the company will continue to extend benefits such as zero registration fees, 0-percent commission for marketplace sellers, and 0-percent listing fee to all sellers. Shipping costs are also absorbed by Shopee as part of the Seller Support Package.
