For starters, the Xperia 10 III is fitted with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 690 5G SoC, which is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 665 used by its predecessor. With the new SoC, this also means that the Xperia 10 III is the first mid-range smartphone in the lineup to support 5G. Moving on, the Xperia 10 III also has more RAM at 6GB that is, once again, a bump up from the original 4GB RAM in the Xperia 10 II. More importantly, Sony has also seen fit to bump up the battery capacity of the new mid-range flagship, from 3600mAh to a sizable 4500mAh battery. Surprisingly, the Xperia 10 III also comes fitted with Sony’s 21:9 wide, 6-inch Full HD+ OLED display with HDR and TRILUMINOS, which is the same display technology to its more powerful flagship brethren. Additionally, the phone also comes with an IP65 and IP68 rating and uses Corning Gorilla Glass 6, making it one of the most durable Xperia, to-date. As for the camera, the Xperia 10 III retains a triple-camera main array, but fails to mention if the sensor sizes are identical to the Xperia 10 II. That said, it does mention the focal ranges of each sensor during its presentation; the camera includes a 16mm ultrawide lens, a 27mm wide lens, and a 54mm telephoto sensor. Regarding the 27mm wide, it also seems that this sensor has been given a bigger aperture range at f/1.8. The Sony Xperia 10 III is slated for an August release in Malaysia. At the time of writing, no local pricing has been given.
