According to the CEO of EZ-Link, Nicholas Lee, the Combi Card can initially be used to pay the Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) system in Singapore and highway tolls in Malaysia. The new card can also be used to pay for parking in both countries.
Nicholas also stated that the Combi Card can be used for shopping and dining in the future as well. In terms of implementation though, Straits Times reported that the card actually stores Singapore Dollar and Ringgit Malaysia separately. In general, the new card should make lives more convenient to both Malaysians and Singaporeans especially for those who travel between the two countries frequently. Expect to hear more about it as EZ-Link and Touch ‘n Go working to make the dual currency Combi Card a reality in the fourth quarter of 2019. (Source: EZ-Link, Straits Times)
