The leak comes by way of a tweet from Digital Chat Station (@StationChat), who posted the alleged GeekBench details belonging to the OnePlus Z. Based on that information, it appears that the phone will be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G SoC and not the MediaTek Dimensity 1000 5G chipset that was initially rumoured. Additionally, it was also shown that the phone would have 12GB of RAM, instead of the typical 4GB to 6GB that other mid-range devices seem to sport. Performance-wise, the OnePlus Z is shown to have scored 612 points on the single-core test and 1955 on the multi-score test of GeekBench. Sadly, there’s no additional information about the other features, including what kind of multi-camera solution it intends to use.
Besides the chipset, pricing is certainly going to be a much debated topic for the OnePlus Z when it launches; as it stands, the OnePlus 8 currently starts at a based of RM2899, while the OnePlus 8 Pro begins at RM3699. If OnePlus intends to go head to head with other brands, it may have to settle somewhere between the RM1500 and RM2000 mark. In any case, this is still merely a rumour, therefore we recommend that you treat this bit of news with some level of scepticism. (Source: Hot Hardware)
